RapSign Privacy Policy

At RapSign, our core principle is keeping your documents and signatures local to your device. This policy explains what limited information we collect, why we need it, and how we handle it.

1. Your Documents and Signatures

We built RapSign to operate without needing to upload your private files to our servers.

Local Storage: Your documents, signatures, overlays, and PDF annotations are persisted in your local app or browser storage. We do not upload your documents or signatures to RapSign servers.

Device Scope: Because these files are stored locally, please note that we cannot promise they are encrypted by the OS, permanently erased beyond recovery if deleted, automatically backed up, or guaranteed to never leave your device through your own backups or syncing services.

2. Information We Collect

To provide you with an account, process referrals, and enable optional features, we collect the following:

Account Information: We store your account identifier, email address, optional name, token balance, trial or account status, and related timestamps needed to maintain your account. Authentication is processed by Clerk, and if you choose Google sign-in, Google may process your sign-in information.

Device and Referral Data: We generate and store a device identifier to manage referral anti-abuse mechanisms. We also store referral codes and relationships and whether your account dismissed an NFC offer banner.

Tap Digital Business Cards (Optional): If you choose to set up a RapSign Tap card, we store the profile data, contact details, and social fields you provide. Please be aware that public Tap cards display this user-chosen information publicly.

Device Permissions: We may request access to your photo library, camera, file picker, and file-saving capabilities when you choose to import documents or signatures or save completed files.

3. Analytics

When analytics is enabled on our published website, Umami records pageviews and limited event details such as the type of document imported or export format selected. These events do not include document contents, signatures, entered text, email addresses, or file names.

4. How We Use Your Information

Depending on where you live, we process information to provide the service you request, based on your consent, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing RapSign, or to meet legal obligations. We use this data to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the RapSign service and user accounts.

Process optional public features like Tap digital business cards.

Prevent abuse of our referral programs.

Respond to your support requests and communicate important updates.

5. Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell your personal data. We disclose information to service providers only as needed to operate RapSign, including Clerk for authentication, Google when you choose Google sign-in, hosting and database providers, and the web analytics service described above. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect RapSign, our users, or others. Data may be processed in countries where these providers operate.

6. Data Retention and Security

We retain your account information as long as necessary to provide the service or comply with legal obligations. While we implement reasonable security measures to protect the information we store on our servers, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, including account deletion, please contact our support team directly. We will process your requests in accordance with applicable laws.

8. Children Under 13

RapSign is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Effective Date" and making the revised policy available through our application and website.
